Music: Brutal Death Metal

BUNKDOPE was formed in 1997 in Oregon by a few guys who wanted to devastate the world with their ideas, consisting of brutal power and unstoppable thirst for performing. Since that time they managed to record two long play albums, Uncut (2000) and Sores, both self released, with different material, but with one song appearing on both – Severed.
Sores is the first (and I hope that also last) brutal death album, which managed to bore me to death. Unfortunately this tune lacks everything: from some reasonable content, to appropriate dose of aggression. I have to admit, that this fast performance did not move me at all. The content is extremely dull, it is nothing more than just a constant and brainless butchery. Although the sound sometimes is quite interesting, though not innovative at all. You will not find here nothing more than just simple brutal indicators, like speed, aggression (not sufficient enough), hard to understand growling and that is all. It may seem that there is no use of listening to a band, who sound exactly the same as many brutal groups, really. Believe me, building sandcastles is more exciting.
Someone should finally understand that brutal power itself is not enough to provide some extreme entertainment. First of all, the brain is the most important thing. And in this case, it seems that the authors of this music tried to offend the listeners intelligence. It is not the way they should have done.
