Straight from Atlanta comes AMOEBIC DYSENTERY, a brutal grinding metal band, actually one-piece band, a project created by Will Drew, who seems to be mentally ill, but his brains are not the subject of this writing, but the pulp he creates, and calls music. The project was started in 2000 (under this name) and since that time three full-length albums have been released (this one is the third one), three splits and one demo and an EP.

It is not easy to be appreciated, especially when someone is writing songs about gore, sickness and sex, not always in this order. This album is extremely fast, furious and aggressive. There is no way to find something slower (150 mph). this is pure brutal death grind, with no vocal line (as usually for grinding sounds), but with fully developed melodic line [sic!]. As the voice at the beginning of this album says, its main theme is agony, and agony is not words, but sound. And this sound exactly fits this theme. Terrible noise would be a better phrase to describe this event, but it is just a matter of taste. As this music is very raw, fleshy and powerful. The drums create a machine-like atmosphere, it all seems to be played by robots, than human beings. The sections are perfectly developed and worked through. What is more, it is all soaking wet from aggression, barbarism even. And those short pieces of compositions seem to not repeat. Or they are so short, that it is impossible to state it, because after listening to three tracks, one does not remember the first one in other words, not so bad.

Some people watch porn, some eat dogs, some like listening to such rape-metal. Human beings like doing strange things, more or less sick, but still stupid enough for humankind. Everything is for the people, but we should beware of crossing the thin border between grotesque and aberration. When we cross it, there is no turning back. The same goes for this music. Do not overuse it. Listen once, maybe twice, and forget about it. Unless you want to become a pervert.
