As the band was put together in 1993, it was put on hold in the November of 2007. The musicians decided to take a break, as they wanted to find some new sources of inspiration. Throughout all those years, the band managed to record eight albums, including one demo, three EPs and four full length releases.
Vicecrown is nothing more than just another album from under the sign of copy-paste approach. The guitars sound the same in each composition, the songs even start in a similar way, there is no variety in this music whatsoever. The whole idea was to play as fast as possible, and to yell something totally incomprehensible. And it is almost impossible to find at least one track which would sound at least a bit different than the previous and so on, so forth. On the other hand, the band represents a mature concept, when it comes to the black metal indicators: the guitars, although quite repeated, are real killers, the bulldozer like sound shivers the audio set. What is more, that incomprehensible growl is very characteristic and seems to be the best one to suit this music. Last but not least, the whole is recorded according to very high technical standards – fantastic black solos, fanatic-like riffs, and insane drums create a fantastic black melt atmosphere. What more can one want? Some innovative and unpredictable content!
This release is quite weak, in terms of the content only, for there is nothing to pick on, when the technicalities are discussed. Everything works well, fleshy instrument parts, fleshy growl, bloody gore sound smites the items from the shelves in the room. But there is one question: who really cares about al that stuff, when it is impossible to find one song, which would be different?
