Brutal death metal is still not so common among some territories, especially somewhere around the Spanish coasts. But in 1998, the Spanish music scene gained a band, which wanted to create brutal and aggressive music. Created by Jovi and Vicente, previously performing in other metal project (PROFETAS, which was a heavy metal band), IMBRUE had some difficult beginnings, as for example arguments among the members, leading to separation. After gathering a new squad, the band worked upon new material (only own compositions) and that is how Cado Datur Verbs came to life.
This music is a perfect example of brutal death metal, in its sheerest form. Some interludes sound as if they were taken from one very famous slicing series, and this thing sounds quite cool, but when it comes to the sound of the music, things do not go so well. First of all, it does not offer much, whatsoever. The compositions are very simple, all they can offer is a total brainless hammering and no actual idea, how to create something cohesive. On the other hand, the sound is extremely powerful and aggressive, but how much aggression can be squeezed from two riffs, hammered all the time? Therefore the content is quite weak and the tracks seem to be those sliced parts of one main motif. What is more, the incomprehensible growl (a sound resembling that one of a slaughtered pig), totally devastates the whole. It is impossible to state, whether the musicians tried to sing or yell something, or were they just shouting out loud unidentified sounds, or howling. Thanks to his operation, this music reached the very bottom of the bottom.
IMBRUE have a good recipe how to prepare a boring album, actually deprived of music. There is no sound, only squeaks, some heavy guitars and only one drum line. No variations, no innovations no nothing. Do not waste your time.
