The band’s history reaches the early nineties, when the concept was brought to life. The beginnings were not easy, as usually, but after a year of work, the group managed to record their first demo ‘Doom’. Since that time, some line up changes occurred and the band does not look the same, as several years earlier. Now it is a two-piece, with Demogorgon and Daimon in command.

‘God Is Dead’ is an album, which in fact is a little surprise, despite of being quite predictable. Two notions, how intense, but having much in common. The whole aspires to be black metal, but it cannot get rid or escape from the gothic atmosphere, which is good, because those fills build the music’s character and make it unique. The fantastic keyboard parts are the best motifs on this album, they create the doom climate, a cemetery character. Extraordinary ‘Messages from the Gods’ is the best example of it. The rest of the compositions is quite good, though a slight tune of repetitions appears and haunts till the end. It is a problem, because the major part of the repertoire is built on the same, hoarse riff, pagan drum line and growl – all of those elements are constantly repeated in each composition, what is more, they repeat in almost unchanged form – hence the music loses its freshness and a bit from its originality.

LEGION OF DOOM recorded a good album, but they have become the slaves of their own sound. Too many repetitions simply spoil everything. Luckily, the fantastic keyboards and interesting melodic lines manage to save this album. All in all, worth listening, not once, not twice, but at least a dozen of times.
