When recording this album, the band was a three-piece, including Zyklon, Widowpower and Staliorgel, who formed the group in 2005. But its history reaches the years 2002 and 2003, when Zyklon and Stalinorgel started rehearsals. Things did not go well, as they felt, that something was missing, and that something was the power, raw force, which would smite the enemies from the battlefield. Finally, in 2005, the reinforcements arrived.
Thanks to this help from Widowpower, the band managed to record and release their debut album, a demo titled Proclamation of War, which is the best proof for that, that with good intentions and low budget, everyone can achieve something big. First of all, the sound quality is not of the greatest standards, but as for something recorded during rehearsals, sounds quite good. All of the instruments are audible and do not disturb one another. The hoarse growl is very comprehensible, so it is possible to understand, what Zyklon is yelling. Furthermore, the multi-motif approach creates a little concert – a gig of two compositions, with a mixture of styles and ideas, from black melodic death, to elements of heavy metal. This album is a real attention catcher and stays in the mind for a long time.
Proclamation of War is a nice little record with dozens of ideas and an appropriate approach towards the whole idea of performance. The compositions are coherent and catchy, what is more, they absorb the attention. Then, even that poor sound is unable to devastate the whole. Great job!
