This is the third album of solo project WAR FOR WAR from Czech. From the beginning of the album I was associations with Polish bands from a circle of Pagan Metal from 90. years. Maybe therefore that in the music of WAR FOR WAR is hearing very specific sound which accompanied many bands from circle of Pagan Metal. The sound of the album is like from home studio (although the sound is good). But first of all my associations appeared because the texts are in Czech language.
The music of WAR FOR WAR is Black Metal with pretty varied pace, sometimes very quick and full of “guitar's sixteens or percussive blasts, or else slower subjects. Obviously a Black Metal's scream, the automatic percussive rhythms as well as the quick typical guitars for Pagan/Black Metal's patents create the basis of the music. There also are musical motives including a dose of progressive playing and melody moreover. The sound of the guitars is sharp as well as a bit raw. And it gives a specific mood.
The general climate of the album is very sinister, full of aggression harmonizing with characteristic melodies. Another time the climate is full of a gentle melancholy underlined by the emphasizing keyboards. WAR FOR WAR reminded me not existing Polish Pagan Metal band MEMORIA VETUS as well as a first album of THY WORSHIPER. On the end I add that cover of MASTER'S HAMMER sung in Czech language – “Vykoupeni” closes the album.
