DEADBORN was born in 2002 in Baden-Baden, Germany. At the very beginning, they functioned as a three-piece, and as a such team, they have recorded their debut EP Decades of Decapitation. In 2007, the group signed a contract with Massacre Records, what resulted in releasing of their next album, Stigma Eternal.
A progressive approach towards the process of production, or creation, works well – the compositions, despite of being only two-motif, develop constantly, step by step, according to the death metal principle. To start with harsh and raw riffs, and finish with fleshy and viciously speedy sounds. The near-to-grind vocal fits the music perfectly, and creates with it a kind of who-is-more-fleshy competition. The instrumental sections are very precise and short solos are little pearls. But unfortunately they are too short, and do not appear quite often. Thus the music consists of the same motifs, jammed over and over again. DEADBORN have tendencies to tire, even though they create a technical masterpiece.
DEADBORN album is an example of good material, being bitten by the chary of ideas used in it. The compositions are developed mainly in two directions, and no innovative elements are added during this short journey. Still, it is a good album, which deserves a longer listening.
