George A. Romero's 'Diary of the Dead' Myspace Winners!

We know the winning short films from five young rising directors selected from a nationwide contest launched earlier this year on MySpace.

After hundreds of aspiring amateurs submitted their original shorts on MySpace to be judged by their peers, ultimately it was Romero who had to decide on the winners. He handpicked the top five short films and awarded the grand prize to the most impressive short, 'The Final Day', a terrorizing zombie tale from Paul Del Vecchio (director/producer), David R. Doumeng (writer/producer), and Douglas Frye (producer).

The remaining four shorts included 'Deader Living Through Chemistry', 'Opening Night of the Living Dead', '& Teller' and 'Run For Your Life'. All five selections will be featured on the May 20th DVD release of 'DIARY OF THE DEAD' from the Weinstein Company and Genius Products.
