Previously known as NIGHSHADE, the band was formed in 1996, but soon after its forming, it split-up, and every sign on earth was showing, that it was a definite end. But in 2006, two members of the NIGHSHADE decided to put the group back together, they managed to get on board three more musicians, and the wheel is turning again.
Rougayahs Revenge represents a very modern, extremely progressive approach towards music. This four-tracked demo is a bottomless well of different ideas, but with one main drawback – there are so many of them, that the band gets lost in their usage. The compositions are catchy, the amount of power sufficient, although the horrendous problems with melodic and rhythmic sections result in low-quality material. The biggest problems occur during the solo in With Night We Rise, where the rhythm guitar plays whatever it likes, something completely odd, not connected with the overall idea. There are more such pearls, like problems with pace, for example. Those drawbacks make this CD hard to cope with, although it is still worth listening, as some interesting ideas draw the attention.
NIGHTSHADERS released an unprepared album, full of mistakes. It seems that they are chasing shadows, which are running in different directions, and they cannot catch not a single one, thus their material is incoherent, chaotic and very thrashed around just like their breath.
