When it was announced in late 2007 that the young, new thrash sensation BONDED BY BLOOD were set to record their debut album with producer MICHAEL ROSEN, the band and fans alike were understandably excited. Having previously worked with thrash legends such as TESTAMENT and VIO-LENCE, ROSEN was an obvious choice for producing the fast-rising thrashers' furious debut album, FEED THE BEAST.
Unbeknownst to many, the recording sessions with MICHAEL ROSEN were scrapped and the band opted to re-record the album with a different studio and producer.
BONDED BY BLOOD vocalist JOSE “ALADDIN” BARRALES explains what happened and why they chose to re-record FEED THE BEAST: “It was weird… Everytime we got in the studio, everything sounded good, but there were a lot of problems where we clashed… He kept bringing up Green Day and bands like that, that we should sound a little bit more like. I mean, I have nothing against those bands, it's just, it's not us.”
BARRALES continues, “It was lacking energy. It was lacking a lot of stuff really, it just wasn't the same, it wasn't our songs… There were a lot of essential songs like 'Immortal Life' and 'Feed The Beast' that we were really used to and we really liked the way they were, and he really changed a lot of stuff that we really didn't like.”
