I am confused. This album sounds like DIDO with ocassional metal riffing and double bass drum parts mixed with techno, electro. Sounds scarying? Indeed. Also this cd is scarying. If I were a gothic rock fan maybe I would love this album. Unfortunately I am not. I am really disappointed. Why? First of all band creates a lof of music without a soul. Various influences mixed in one dont give wanted result. They just do not compare with themselves. Mostly frapping is when song start with a really good metal riff and it is automatically followed by synth's or a clean and calm melody without distortion. Argh… also I dont understand why Antti Lehtinen or even Mikko Moilanen (I dont know why there is one drummer and… two guys for double bass ;/) plays with a double bass drum, because it is definately unnecessary. While guitars play strong and passionable riff, voice of Eilera are managed to destroy whole groove and vibe.
I mentioned DIDO. Well, you would ask why? Because voice of Eilera sounds almost the same as DIDO – maybe sometimes more like an angel (and what the fuck are these growl/screamed parts in the background?!). Her voice is totally no worth of listening and I recommend you to take off and dont listen this cd.
I am disgusted. Those fifty minutes(!!) are just to long for me. Sometimes group (or Eilera with her friends) produce more flexible and interesting elements but why? why?! do they follow them by something like electro or other goth stuff. Why?! Just why 🙁
After my first listening of this cd, I am exausted and sad. Why sad? Because this album could be(!) much better without all these superfluous elements. Why exausted? Just look at the timing of this cd. There you've got my answer.
Goth rock fans perhaps are satisfied but this would be an evidence of their close-mind thinking.
Yeah that's right. I dont like goths. So… no way! New MOONSPELL album on my desk. I must apologize to you all but I should go… and you should go too.
