Nuclear Blast Records has announced the signing of the Tasmanian technical death metal band PSYCROPTIC.
Nuclear Blast's U.S. A&R representative Gerardo Martinez stated about the signing: “We are beyond excited to be working with one of the BEST technical death metal bands in the world right now. We feel the band will reach the status they deserve in a short period of time.”
The band added: “To say that all of us are excited to be working with Nuclear Blast is quite an understatement we're over the moon! Nuclear Blast has always been the pinnacle of labels within the metal realm, and to be signed with them is a huge honor for us…and to be the first Tasmanian band to ever be on the label is a pretty cool bonus as well. The artist roster is nothing short of amazing, and for us to be added to it…well, we couldn't be happier!!”
In a recent interview with The Metal Forge, PSYCROPTIC drummer Dave Haley stated about the group's new material, “It's still PSYCROPTIC, but I think out songwriting has improved. It's very catchy stuff, but still intense. Some stuff isn't as technical, other stuff is. We have tried to make it varied but still sound like an album not just a mish-mash of songs. We're quite excited about it all!”
PSYCROPTIC's third full-length album, Symbols of Failure, was released in February 2006 via Neurotic Records. The follow-up of 2003's The Scepter of the Ancients marks the recording debut of the band's new vocalist Jason Peppiatt.
