Wow, I am totally amazed. How is it possible to have a band like this in their own country? Total shock. To be honest I am a big fan of thrashcore (especially CATARACT) and any other simmilar to this genre. Regarding thrashcore violation, REVOLTING BREED is what I was really looking for. As a band they are proud inheritors of legacy left by mighty AT THE GATES, with a strong SLAYER influence. Sounds good? Yes it is. It's only just a beginning.
Why I am amazed? Because (unfortunately) I do not know any good bands from Greece. Among mighty melodic black metallers from ROTTING CHRIST, and old school thrashers SUICIDAL ANGELS I do not know any. Sad? Yes, it is. Fortunately guys from REVOLTING BREED have something to spread over the whole world. What they would spread? Of course, their own brutal and really cathy music. Those who are worshippers of AT THE GATES Slaughter of The Soul and ultra fast crushing, chugging thrash riffing they would be in a real paradise!
What is the most pleasuring element of REVOLTING BREED? Honestly… drums! Wow, drummer (Haris) has such an impact in his play, fast paced snare/bass drumming, and total blistering rapid double bass workout is the higlight of the whole album. While both guitarists slow down Haris creates his own brutal and breakdown world. Argh…
Regarding guitarist. Both John and Alexander play fast, melodic, and something like square-ish riffs, from time to time adding to them a blisterning and flashing solo. REVOLTING BREED has their own special feature, guitars keep the steady (and furious) rhythm with drummer. Alll songs are having flawless impact and agressive boost and of course pure fucking energy. I cannot image how do they play shows… especially in small clubs where people are seriously going mad and insane in circle/mosh pits. Huh, maybe even they are doing wall of death? I am sure they do.
By the commandment of the headmaster Andrew all musicians can play awesome and marvellous parts. In final effect all belongs to him. Screaming, growling, even clean vocals (why for such a short moment?!), he directs all, he commands and he rules, throughout the entire album (or show). Andrew has such power and fury in his voice. To compare Andrew with other singer… I could compare him with Fedi from CATARACT. Almost the same sense of aggression and raw energy in voice. I am wondering how he presentes on stage… maybe someday I could find it out.
So my little metalheads… take care and mosh till death!
Let my hate breed!
