The “Alhambra” is second album of Spanish band – TAIFA – which unites elements of Metal-Rock music with Flamenco and Andalusian music. Many quest musicians on the album made additions these Rock-Metal compositions by using typical instruments for regional music of Spain and Morocco. Such musical fusion causes the arrangements from “Alhambra” are very complex thematically. There are both heavy Rock-Metal patents from the sign of Progressive Neo-Classical Power Metal and Folk motives full of traditional instruments, the acoustic guitars, the violins and the parts of piano.
This Folk climate is intensified additionally by specific manner of singing vocalist, typical for music of Flamenco. The whole is very melodious, rich in many solo's parties and different accents signalising change of pace or mood. Meanwhile the climate is strongly replete of emotions, where gentle darkness and mysteriousness interweaves with melancholy. Moreover it's good to say that the cover-art of the disc is very colourful and this harmonizes very well with multicoloured fan of musical subjects. And on the disc is video-clip of “Forest Torres de Babel” additionally.
The “Alhambra” is perfect connection of energy and the heaviness of Metal with energy and the melody of Flamenco. “Alhambra” is place where classic Rock-Metal music meets Spanish and Moslem scales.
