GOD DETHRONED comments on upcoming Balkans tour

Dutch melodic death metal stars, GOD DETHRONED made an announcement via their Myspace blog concerning their upcoming tour in the Balkans. Ravenous front man, Henri Sattler comments:

It's June 28th 1914. Franz Ferdinand, heir to the throne of Austria – Hungary and his wife visit Sarajevo, capital of Austro – Hungarian province Bosnia and Herzegovina.

A member of The Black Hand assassinates them there when visiting a hospital. This action led to a chain of events triggering World War I.

Exactly 95 years later, God Dethroned will play Sarajevo promoting their album “Passiondale” (based on World War I).

Leading the concept further beyond the story on the album.

A whole tour on the Balkans with fellow deathsters Fleshgod Apocalypse and Sacramental Blood is based around it, being the start of a massive world tour in 2009.
