In Mai AC/DC had the show in Poland. On the show were many old fans even about forty years old. Someone asked – Do we go to the show? Someone answered – We don't, this is not our generation. We are too young
Some time ago Ronnie James Dio died. Someone affirmed – The best musicians go away. Rock'n'Roll dies!… And I thought – Really. Already nobody plays old classic Hard Rock in style AC/DC, DEEP PURPLE and LED ZEPPELIN
The everything passes away and the sort of music will pass away
But I made a mistake!!! Recently I received several discs to reviewing. Those bands presented their works in classic way
And I discovered that still there are many bands, which are inspired by “progenitors's accomplishments” and follow the same direction and despite XXI century they play music from 70-80 years of XX century
SNEW has on their account two albums. The first – “Snew You” was released in 2008 year (which received the good reviews supposedly) as well as the second – “We Do What We Want”. The producer of the second album was Bobby Owsinski, and the engineer of sound was Ed Cherney (well-known from the work with ROLLING STONES, BOBY DYLAN and ERIC CLAPTON). However the music of SNEW is more heavier…
Already since the first seconds of music my associations went to AC/DC the rhythmical dirtily-sounding guitar riffs, the shrill solos, the rhythmical strong hits of drums and of course the hoarse highly-sounding vocal in style Johnson with support of the firmly males backing singers Maybe fanatic fans of AC/DC will feel shock by my opinion. They claim that AC/DC is only the one and nobody is able to play like them. But you will kill me. I am not able to push out my associations during the listening. I will comfort you, however SNEW does not play identically During of the duration of the album there appear motifs reminding some pieces of DEEP PURPLE (mainly from these sharper songs) and even of LED ZEPPELIN (especially with oral mouth-organ) Moreover the dynamic rock'n'roll piano's phrases appear there and here… And therefore SNEW is pretty damn good hard-rock-mixture of sharp and impulsive music.
