HAIDUK arrived from Canada and presents debut album “Plagueswept”. The album was created by one person – Luca Milojica, which used the vocal, the guitar, the bass and the programmed drums to his work.
It was bad luck, that I listened Progressive Thrash Metal band before HAIDUK and unfortunately I could to compare the both materials. HAIDUK seems bad in comparison to previous band… Despite that bands play different species of Metal that the sound of HAIDUK appears really too weakly. In today's times even Death or Black Metal should sound well.
However HAIDUK proposes dirty sound. It causes the whole sounds archaic like from a garage. The guitars sometimes don't sound in tune. And the growling sometimes is hidden in background. Of course some motifs are composed pretty curiously There is the heaviness and the rapacity of Death Metal. Some arrangements contain somewhat elements of Black Metal and of Punk Rock and also elements of Swedish Death Metal playing in style of UNLEASHED with specific melodics of Death Metal. Neo-folk melodies and Ambient keys also appear there and here. Despite the all – these motifs in connection with the weak sound of guitars as well as of the drums do not persuade me Even the music sometimes is pretty climatic, dark, psychedelic and melancholy but however there is the lacks of depth in the whole.
The instrumental tracks begin and finish the album. It is an innovation in area of Death Metal.
