I never expected, that I will be have opportunity to describe the newest album of legend French scene of Death Metal – LOUDBLAST. The band treads in Metal World about 26 years (!!!). And “Frozen Moments Between Life And Death” is the sixth album of those veterans…
Firstly I did not wait anything extraordinary. Simply – I thought, that it will be the next good disc of Death Metal band, which knows how to play, knows what they do and has really considerable experience… However their music set me in enchantment! It is the very mature, intelligent Death Metal with strong influences of Thrash Metal and with small breath of Black Metal (mainly audible in some guitar phrases) with very well-thought-out arrangements full of variety (obviously in range of Thrash/Death Metal)…
The men from LOUDBLAST do not produce plain Death Metal mince, which melts a brain. They create the ambitious compositions, full of various changes of rhythm (although with superiority of average and slow paces with tendencies to accelerating)… And obviously first of all they produce the heavy serves (not running away from aggression and brutality) as well as the strong growling and the considerable quantity of specific melodies or solos (sharp but simultaneously climatic) and even the clean guitars among heavy motifs. LOUDBLAST did not age, because their music crushes continually (but more intelligently, more technically) as well as their music sets in ecstasy continually.
The album “Frozen Moments Between Life And Death” sounds very modern but it still is Thrash/Death Metal without traces of Nu Metal nor Hardcore (which they are fashionable recently). LOUDBLAST keeps form and how is visible they feel more and more better despite so many years of existence.
