Here is next review, which my neighbor helped me to write. Surely she feels better in different rock climates. And therefore I leave her free choice in description of this Canadian band…
CHARGE OF THE LIGHT BRIGADE “The Defiant Ones” – I rank this disc for the current which personally I define as Dancing Rock. This kind was disseminated by such bands like GOSSIP or FRANZ FERDINAND in first decade of XXI century. From one side: the guitar is basis. From second side: the legs want to dance. This music also is good to lonely headbanging, but it also fits to situation, when women take to dance men and inversely. This music also is ideal to hug themselves in dance. The vocalist's voice also underlines such atmosphere. The voice is simultaneously gentle, warm as well as strong and decided. The singing sometimes reminds me the singing of Billy Corgan from THE SMASHING PUMKINS, in different moments it sounds like Julian Casablancas from THE STROKES. Simultaneously this singing does not cause impression that the vocalist wants to copy someone. Summing up: “The Defiant Ones” will not make revolution in musical world, but there is no shame here. Therefore I recommend!
This was description of Maggy. And for me – the music is even calm with a little claw and obviously is very melodious, in moments is lightly dark, a bit balladic and romantic.
