LICK AND A PROMISE comes from Germany and has existed from 2005 year. However their music sounds more in Western style and is very old school surely from point of view classic Rock. Their approach to musical expression is very traditional but the compositions come from XXI century and they remind the 60/70 years of XX century and the times of hippies, the times of freedom and the unembarrassed love
The arrangements from the album contain the free subjects of Blues-Rock with the acoustic guitar's chords, the calm percussive rhythms and the pleasant Blues singing (with interesting sound). The works also portray surprises in style of motifs of oral mouth-organ, saxophone or organs and even the serve in style of Country music. The majority of composition sounds gently and balladic but we also will hear there somewhat dirtier guitars, solos and stronger hits. Despite all, the whole is in borders of Blues-Rock norm is very positive and pleasant The Energy of songs with easiness penetrates to the listener's interior, causing the pleasant desire of rhythmical swinging and additionally it is reinforced by the subjects easily falling to ears.
The whole sounds very nicely, a little nostalgic and very jauntily. LICK AND A PROMISE brought many changes to present musical market and reminded times SIMON & GARFUNKEL as well as early LED ZEPPELIN. I would qualify LICK AND A PROMISE as present “Children-Flowers”, as carefree hippies were called many years ago Really, this music is nice change for moments when we desire to rest ordinarily and to do nothing and maybe to dream a bit
