SIXTY MILES AHEAD is young team which began musical journey with Ep “Blank Slate”. First of all, this five-tracks material portrays Rock's music as the mixture of Hard Rock, Grunge and Stoner Rock. Although I feel aftertaste Soft Metal here (more often defined as Glam Metal or Hair Metal. However musicians' image of SIXTY MILES AHEAD is not typical for Glam Metal).

The compositions of “Blank Slate” connect the dynamic playings with the melody. It all thanks to heavy, dirty sound of guitars and hoarse (but melodious) singing with vocal exaltations. In moments the riffs sound pretty strongly, heavily and very dynamic and in other time the music is very balladic (especially during acoustic playings and solo parties of guitars or calm guitar's passages). But some moments sound like Rock'n'roll or Blues-Rock. And the majority of pieces are in average-free paces.

In total SIXTY MILES AHEAD is shapely connection of SOUNDGARDEN, BON JOVI and GUNS'N'ROSES… This is connection of moderate darkness with moderate melancholy… quarrelsomeness with melody…
