Country: Italy
On the beginning of first decade of XXI century, the six rebels from the south of Italy created NEFERTUM, the band was inspired by “New School of Black Metal” and the bands in style of ARCTURUS and EMPEROR (later). Moreover NEFERTUM is the next band which the logo was designed by master Christophe Szpajdel… There are many bands and fanzines having the use the services of Christophe. However I have to write about the band and not about the works of Christophe…
“Revered Lames” exhale a fire from the beginning. The fire is fueled by the melodious Black Metal with symphonic insertions… To be honest, NEFERTUM proposes nothing innovatory and rather the band follows the well-knowing routes… The predatory vocals, the sharp guitars like the razor, the average-quick hits interlaced by the orchestral insertions… The violins and the piano… The whole creates the dark devilish climate with the moments of pathos and aggressiveness…
NEFERTUM sometimes sounds very classical, that is “pure” (from point of view of Black Metal) – the quick the and furious motives full of blasts, demoniacal guitars and the vocals. The strong symphonic phrases or even the folk melodies expand this black space and creating the music more avant-garde.
To most generally say – NEFERTUM stands somewhere among DIMMU BORGIR and SATYRICON.
