I am the great fan of Symphonic Metal, Gothic… but CRYSALYS delights me only from the one side and irritates me unfortunately from the second side. It is thanks to vocal of Chiara. I think that her singing injures all. I adore the voice of Tarja Turunen, I adore the vocal of Sharon den Adel but the voice of vocalist's CRYSALYS more fits to an opera than to Metal music.
Besides, the all is on the suitable place in this kind of Metal. The amazing keyboards create the climate, the expression and the pathos as well as the fabulous lofty style on Italians' disc.
Melodics is the next perfect point in “The Awakening Of Gaia”. Just, the pretty heavy guitars which perfectly seize the melody and they harmonize with the drums to creating the melodics. The work “Scarlet Crusade” is surely admirable to recommendation, which it delights by melodious catchy refrains. And “Time For Vultures” probably is heaviest piece on the album.
And the lyrics… The tales about fabulous seas, mariners, monsters reign here obviously, that is this all what we like to listening and watching – pure fantasy.
CRYSALYS came into being pretty long time ago – in 2003. In 2006 they recorded demo “Season of Suffering”, two years later they recorded ep “White Lotus on Acheron' Shores” and in 2009 they recorded demo “… And Let the Innocence Dream”. My last words about “The Awakening Of Gaia” – it is excellent music with the pretty “specific” voice of red-hairy Chiara. But despite all this is ok.
