I estimated very high (9.0/10) the debut album of DYNAHEAD “Antigen”, so when I received the second disc of Brazilians I was interesting as they play this time. This type of Metal's music has very high value for me. Progressive music connects with Metal – Progressive Metal – I think it is the highest degree of evolution Metal's music. This is absurd stereotype that Metal musicians have mediocre skills. Anyway various bands often more and more prove that to play Metal they should have excellent skills. And that is in case of DYNAHEAD. Their professional approach to musical workshop as well as openness of mind for the different fusions were reflected in next album – obviously very favourably…
“Youniverse” is concept-album obviously (it is frequent in case of Progressive teams). The subject matter of album circulates around the universe and the mankind. This is very mature album in musical conception, it's differential and composed with swing and it links the energy and dynamism of Thrash-Death Metal with the rhythms of Mathcore as well as with many influences of Jazz Fusion or Progressive Rock.
DYNAHEAD goes away from the conventional forms and plaits different surprising musical plots – heavy and aggressive hits – suddenly intermittent or enriched by the calm melodies, the clean guitars and the electric samples, the symphonic-operatic insertions or even folk melodies… And after a moment it again bangs the crushing asymmetrical rhythms with low tuned guitars, the screams and the growls… And then again… The melodious masterly solos or the sung vocals. In this music still something happens… The aggression alternates with melody there.
Despite this thematic divergence, the material is perfectly plaited and simultaneously very dynamic as well as compiled rhythmically and melodic. The compiled arrangements spread dark-melancholy climate with moments of monumental pathos…
The musical genius of the team portrays the total engineering of sound with solid realization. This is not easy music. The intensity of sounds totally smashes up but also soothes (in calm moments). The work is true Metal's artistry… DYNAHEAD is ideal for fans DREAM THEATER, MESHUGGAH or GORDIAN KNOT…
