Does CHAOS CORE is a next proof that the wave of Hardcore floods us in the XXI century? This genre of music has more to say at present. This music begins to absorb other genres of music and this music takes many patents from them. In fact, recently I meet very rarely classic Hardcore. And in the case of CHAOS CORE initially seemed that the name of band suggests quite a lot of dose of Hardcore. And basically when I was listening the sounds then I could not identify the genre of music . Is it Hardcore or Metal? Anyway, the music of CHAOS CORE has the best features the both types of music – it is a lively, heavy, dynamic, aggressive and even melodic as well as sometimes melancholic. So, this is the syncretic coexistence of the best features of Hardcore and Metal, but with the strong predominance of Metal, because the growl and the specific structures of guitar's riffs (well known for Metal fans) dominate here.
Despite that musicians are Italians but the influences of Scandinavian Melodic Death Metal in the style of CHILDREN OF BODOM, DARK TRANQUILLITY and even DEATH are clearly audible. In total, each of the 10 tracks has something interesting to offer. The songs are multithreaded, spreading simultaneously the rebellious aggression and the melodious nostalgia. Moreover, the calmer phrases, even in style Progressive Metal or the furious motives of Black Metal appear among those heavy and crushing themes. CHAOS CORE (by each song) reveals new cards for listeners and brings unexpected music solutions and more and more shows its Progressive Metal face, offering the virtuosic themes, the complex rhythmic paces, the unexpected changes of phrases or even the jazz inclinations.
The album “Born In Silence” was a surprise for me. I was expecting a Hardcore and I got a really valuable Progressive Death Metal.
