Mister Kowalski is the main engine of SMELL MY PILLOW. The man with the most popular Polish surname. However the band comes from United States.

The music from “Off Switch” is mainly inspired by Rock (from 70th years) with clear influences of Punk (from 80th years) and Grunge (from 90th years) with a addition of Funk and Blues. And therefore, the influences of classic genres are a lot here, eg. LED ZEPPELIN, SOUNDGARDEN, RED HOT CHILI PEPPERS, SEX PISTOLS, KISS, RAGE AGAINST THE MACHINE, NIRVANA.

The works are very dynamic, lively, melodious, sometimes psychedelic and somewhat with gloomy mood, without excessive exaltations and pathos. Briefly saying – the music is with a claw, with a humour and with the breath of neo-hippie. The sound guitars even is in retro style. And in case of SMELL MY PILLOW – it fits to musical style ideally.

Many vocal lines create rhythmical recitations, outright Rap recitations. This considerably goes beyond the frame of classic Rock. However the such playing (with the stronger guitars) lends the features of Funk Rock climate. And some guitar solos, passages and the musical effects create psychedelic moments coloured by the gentle darkness and melancholy.

SMELL MY PILLOW is the very nice return to a past (in my case), and in a case of the persons' young – it is journey to a past.
