Regarde Les Hommes Tomber is the first of a three bands reviewed by me from French label Ladlo Productions. The band is new, but there play experienced musicians that performs on stage in groups of that country, it means in hardcore, death and black metal crews. After reading the info, I started listening eagerly for the material, because I'm a big fan of mixing genres, in particular of sludge dirt, black metal darkness, gravity and long lengthy atmospheric composition.
Regarde Les Hommes Tomber prepared for us forty minutes of emotional experience, in the shape of seven powerful and twisted tracks in form and sound as well. The album shrouded in disturbing and dark atmosphere, flooded the enormity of sounds, stimulating the imagination, at the same time causing a deep sense of levitation, focus, and this specific unbridled trance, from which it is hard to release and go after we put stop button on our cd player. I think that fans of bands like: Amenra or Cult Of Luna appreciate the sounds created by French artists. Generally, in addition to sludge sound, the music is also characterized by a large degree of black metal at climate, like thick smoke from the pit of hell. The farther into the forest, the more trees we find also a lot of quieter moments in post-rock and ambient style that appear here and there in the works, well corresponding with the total sound. Guitarists play interestingly, from the fast riffs with psychedelic spots, to the long and heavy slow parts, along with the section, they put a lot of ritual atmosphere, and the dude on vocals gives off a diverse series of shouts, screams and growls. I almost forgot about motility, derived from the hard core scene, so we find a lot of moshing parts as well. Distinctive song of all sevens is definitely song nine – “Ov Flames, Flesh and Sins,” where every contact with each other inspiration, revealing a range of wide interests of musicians. Release are rich in a variety of arrangements by changing climates and moods, where appropriate focus and attitude will discover a wealth of experience.
Regarde Les Hommes Tomber recorded an album interesting, engaging its climate, where the foreground stands out above all the general atmosphere, dark, psychedelic and ominous at the same time, which does not allow to slip by her indifference and non-invasive. Charges can be a bit of duplication of the flooded by similar bands in this type of music, but this is only first album, sounding very professional and interesting to, so it's just fine minus. I wonder if on the next album the musicians would turn into more experimental areas or maybe they go more into extreme regions of black and sludge metal? An interesting debut of promising team. Recommended for fans of heavy sludge rolling who love long, dark and atmospheric sweep.
