WARTIME was created in 1997 year in Sofia (Bulgaria). Unfortunately the men released only two full albums. Their compositions are on a world level, but unfortunately the team also did not reach the mainstream with their music.
Men from Bulgaria from the beginning hit heavily, strongly and distinctly as well as with the strong swing. In the works are audible the many compiled rhythms of guitars and of drums – the very dynamic and crushing. The low tuned guitars and the damping riffs increase the heaviness of sound but however it does not quarrel with the specific melodics of guitars. The melodic (and polyphonic) vocals underline this melodics. And the vocals are varied by the sharper screams and even by growls. The spatial, technical solos of guitars sometimes build the melancholy tone in a connection with sung vocals. Despite all here has no the lack of the aggressive hits.
“Solar Messiah” presents the lots of interesting ideas – from the very energetic and crushing themes till outright the balladic decelerations (created by the parties of keys, the violins and the acoustic guitars). However these gentle moments are only episodic and the keys more often emphasise darkness flowing from the whole. The music sometimes goes into the regions the melodic technical Death Metal (in style of DEATH or CYNIC) and even into the side of Swedish Death Metal in style of UNLEASHED. However the motifs of Thrash Metal predominate here.
WARTIME showed the excellent connection of melody with brutal approach to creating of music. The works created a collision of melancholy with an aggression as well as of the heaviness with the climatic dark space.
