Since 2006, the British ELEMENT released 1 demo, 2 EPs and 3 albums… Their last album “WTF Happened To Journalism” was recorded in collaboration with Paul O'Neill (known as rock producer of SAXON, SAVATAGE, etc.), and now I have the opportunity to describe the last album…
Well, I can not clearly classify their music as Heavy Metal or Hard Rock or maybe Progressive Rock and Grunge, because the music of the band is the result of these species, as well as it is the influence of more modern types of music, like Post Rock…
So, the music is dynamic and heavy, sometimes even sharp on the one hand. And from the other hand is calm, melodic, melancholic, even a little psychedelic and dark… Although the songs are quite complex and spatial but they are catchy, because each of them is in itself a characteristic… The rhythm of total ranges between medium-fast till the very slow pace… The music creates the motoric and dark-psychedelic mood… Although in the info about the team indicated that ELEMENT does not follow trends, but I clearly feel here the follow in the direction of the Post Rock, which recently become more and more fashionable next to Post Hardcore.
The band decided to play a cover of “She Sells Sanctuary” THE CULT at the end of the album, of course the song was played in the climate of ELEMENT.
