THE MOTH GATHERER is another representative of a new wave of Metal music, which often is combination of Sludge, Doom Metal with Post Rock and Shoegaze… and so here we have post Metal … The music very climatic, sometimes trans and still heavy and aggressive…
Such is the album “A Bright Celestial Light” that has the heavy, predatory guitars, usually maintained in medium-slow pace as well as the hysterical screams, very emotional, which in total is quite similar to Sludge Doom Metal style… However the additional calmer, climatic and spatial motifs of guitars give the features of Post Rock. But in the moments when the guitar’s arrangements are suspended in the trans riffs, creating a hypnotic wall of guitar sound, then brings up associations with style of Shoegaze… The whole is joined with a small dose of trans keys.
The climate of the whole is very dark and depressing. The songs usually are long and in some places they sound like CULT OF LUNA.
