In 2009 a few guys have met to realize common passions – the dark and heavy music and the walks in the cemetery (as it’s shown in the photo). The effect of this passions was to build of TOMB OF FINLAND created by a one sepulchral plate with the inscription “Below The Green”. The four gravediggers stand above the grave. They have experience in their work, e.g. from teams CHARON, CRYPTID, GHOSTGUARD and even AND OCEANS.
Their creativity perfectly shows climate of cemetary… The music is heavy and hefty like a plate of tomb. A the dark and gloomy atmosphere full of melancholy and pensiveness interspersed with an wrath and desperate anger are like a mournful mood of the funeral procession. The screams of lamentation and the melodies filled with hysterical emotions reflect the atmosphere of funeral hymns.
TOMB OF FINLAND presented the music which I have heard long time ago. It is somewhat similar to old recordings from the early 90s like in style of old TIAMAT or MOONSPELL. Such music blurred the boundaries between Doom Death and Black Metal. But TOMB OF FINLAND somewhat refreshed this style and again showed how to combine in music the extreme emotions which attracting themselves, e.g. an aggression and an anger with a sadness and a despair. And all of these were concluded in the dark-predatory-melancholic compositions of band.
The album was recorded at Unisound Studio under the eye of Dan Swan? and to be honest I have not heard the band, who recorded something at Unisound studio and I would not like the music.
