GRUMPYNATORS is the next band of the Danish music scene. This time the band, which was founded in 2011, offers us a mix of Rockabilly, Metal and Hard Rock. To create their music they are inspired by bands like MOTORHEAD, AC/DC, METALLICA, RAMONES or JOHNNY CASH. Certainly the interesting element is the playing on the double bass by the team, that distinguishes this band. When I was reading the information about the group then I noticed that they quite well are judged for their creativity. I have met the band thanks to the album released in July 2015 “Wonderland”, which is reviewing by me.

The first thought from the start of the listening to the album was that it was interesting to listen what happens next. Actually it is a combination of Rockabilly, Metal and Hard Rock but I boldly would add to this Punk Rock. The vocal in style of MOTORHEAD combined with a good Punk melodies remind me of THE OFFSPRING and the whole sounds very good. It makes the album is not bored and you want to listen to music.

The Eleven songs from the album created by the four-male can be regarded as a musical phenomenon because of the style Rockabilly. Rock’n’roll playing is a genre that often is reflected in the contemporary work of different bands. And here is similar. The team is perfectly harmonious. The technically is a high level but playing such mixture they must demonstrate appropriate level of skills and musical maturity.

The album is maintained at a sustainable level and style, because the tracks do not differ from each other, but this does not affect for their quality. The music is interesting in terms of the vocal and the instruments, e.g. the solos in the style of Metallica or the introductions to most of the songs. The last song “A Life Without You” is a melancholic acoustic ballad with the cello in the background. The song finishes the album by this distinctive accent.

I would no longer repeat about the band, but you will do what you will do, but you must listen to this band…
