UNSEEN FAITH is a young band playing Deathcore / Metalcore, but they are not followers of the Horned, as it could be seem according with such kind of music. But they are Christians. “Yokebreaker” is their third material. Previously they released five-tracks EP “Comedy / Tragedy” in 2010 and two-tracks single in 2013.
First, I’m looking at the cover art: painting in the style of the abstract, the unspecified circles. I think it nothing mean. The cover art is not very interesting.
While the content of the musical mini CD is above 24 minutes of sharp Metal playing at a high level. The beginning is mild electric guitars playing, which suddenly passes into hurricane’s sounds. The music on the album is varied by the frequent changes of rhythm and melody, screaming vocals, momentary pauses. These give the impression of extraordinary intensity. Sometimes there happen the short climatic inserts (e.g. the solo of piano at the end of the first song or the gentle synthesizer ended the third track).
All the musicians know their job. The frequent melodic guitar licks on the background of the brutal section are interesting. The album is short, but 24 minutes so aggressive music is just okay, because the longer time of the material could make an ennui. For me, “Yokebreaker” is a splendid album of the young men from Denmark. I hope this was just the beginning of a successful career.
