THREAT SIGNAL recently finished work on their new studio album titled “Disconnect”. The offering is scheduled to be released in late 2016 on Agonia Records, five years after their latest Self-titled installment.
Their debut record “Under Reprisal” was a phenomenal record that shot for the stars and hit the mark. The debut release awarded the band the 2006 Hamilton Music Awards Canadian Recording of the Year award, a huge feat for the band that paved the way for their follow up albums “Vigilance” (2008) and Self-titled album (2011). Both of them were eagerly welcomed, with each entering the Billboard’s Top Heatseekers Chart (at #32 and #26).
THREAT SIGNAL came to life in 2003 and immediately began generating growing interest within the metal community. Their debut song “Rational Eyes” hit #1 on the international music website GarageBand.com and maintained that position for over two years. As a result, the young band signed to Nuclear Blast and started intensive touring, having performed with act’s such as Children Of Bodom, Soilwork, Motorhead, Saxon, Opeth, Kataklysm, Hatebreed, Epica and Arch Enemy.
Since “Under Reprisal”, THREAT SIGNAL became internationally recognised as one of the best modern acts in thrash metal. The band combines the complexity of thrash metal, with a more contemporary groove sound involving technical rhythms, and melodic musical passages. Led by frontman Jon Howard, the Canadian group is valued for their energetic live performance.
THREAT SIGNAL commented on signing to Agonia, saying: “We are very excited to have inked a deal with Agonia records. We strongly believe that Agonia will be a great partnership, and together we will push Threat Signal’s music to more listeners than ever before. Our new album ‘Disconnect’ in my opinion is the strongest album we’ve recorded to date. Thank you Agonia for making this happen for us, and we look forward to the road ahead!”.
