The music for “Who cares what music is playing in my headphones?” was recorded in 2014 in a home studio in Moscow by Mikhail A. Repp. While the vocals were recorded in Ukraine by Eugene “Iowa” Zoidze-Mishchenko. So, the result of this international collaboration was an unconventional musical album, presenting a very specific rock-metal music.
At first it might seem that the music of DAN DEAGH WEALCAN is a chaotic patchwork of different strange compositions, containing various arrangements ranging from sounds of Rock and Metal, through Industrial subjects, and ending with the Electronic-Ambient motifs. This wholeness makes up bizarre avant-garde alternative mixture. However, the whole is intelligently thought out and probably is directed to listeners with wide-open minds and certainly not orthodox.
Each track is characterized by a specific progression. We will hear here heavy and sharp guitar themes, sometimes also in a dirty noise-rock style, which is supported by the work of polyrhythmic percussion (sometimes to the extent that emerge elements of Mathcore) with the distorted screams interspersed by the calmer melancholic singings. For the soften of this controlled chaos is responsibility the climate themes of electronic music, sometimes trance and quite dark. Some phrases sound quite oddly, other times quite hysterical or grim or very melancholy.
Sometimes I heard a resemblance to MARILYN MANSON, MINISTRY or MORTIIS (from era of Industral Rock).
