Once again, the Danish music Metal scene confirms that there are good bands and musicians of this music. And here is DEFECTO, the band comes from Copenhagen and they have the first full album from 2010, when the band started its activity. Step by step they released an EP in 2012 and after that in their heads was created the idea for the album, which saw the light of day in March of 2016 years. The album got the title “Excluded”. The cover art of the album has interesting and attracting an eye. It is dark, symbolic and in the same time is provoking and interesting. It is a good beginning and a good invitation to delve inside of the digipack.

In my opinion DEFECTO can very well present their musical ideas and thus, in the album does not lack a proper heavy music and heavy riffs with an musical aggression combined with speed. Such arrangments created a Progressive Power Metal with influences of DREAM THEATER, Thrash Metal in style of METALLICA and Melodic Death Metal. The whole is well played and joined with the prevailing here melodic Metal. There’s no denying that the vocal plays an important role and is doing a good job. Really, here is a multitude of good voice in style of James Hatfield and James LaBrie. The spread of vocals is huge. There are melodic thrash-metal singing and even roars. The roar adds asperity and strenght by the guttural growling, eg. in “Rage”.

The energy that is accompanied in songs and in their performers also makes that the music even faster goes to the listeners. I think there are many listeners of such music. And the songs have chance to become music hits. The supporters of stronger sounds also will find here bold, more powerful solos and often raw guitar playing, even the melodic-death-metal and progressive themes.

You also will find here the elements of Symphonic Metal and ballad songs, which will rock your senses and after that again will throw you in the world of heavy hits of DEFECTO.

In summary, DEFECTO has a future and without a problem… and certainly already they have a large group of their fans. Such music-making is proof of that, for example METALLICA or DREAM THEATER have their successors in the new edition and the new version.

DEFECTO with their album provided me surprising, interesting and unforgettable musical experience. Now I know that I will be listen it many times. I recomend a musical walk with DEFECTO, which are not willing to return, and to whom you will be willing to come back…
