“First off, I’d like to apologize for the constant pushing back of the E.P’s release. As some of you may notice by now it’s March 12 and I’m once again behind on my deadline to get new music out to you all. My hopes is that what I’m about to say comes off as it should. Which are reasons rather than excuses.
Life has been pretty hectic and I’ve been on an ongoing experiment of couch surfing to help eliminate student loan debt I’ve had since 2009. The couch surfing experiment has been going on since October 2016 and has been a wild ride so far.
I’ve finally discovered the answer to the question of “How do you tour when you’re not in a band?” ha ha. This unique opportunity has allowed me to handle costs of putting a website together, photo’s, artwork, handling the copyright expenses for the music and things of that nature. It’s also freed up time for me to contribute more music to the EP seeing as I’m not in a position to release the album as a whole just yet.
It’s been a lot of time/resource management and I’ve just been doing my best to balance time spent on getting the album and website finished as well as manage the 30 + students I teach at the School of Rock in Chatham, NJ. In addition to my teaching gig, I’ve just been hired on to write the soundtrack and score for an upcoming independent horror film due out in the Summer so while I’m very excited with all the activity, It’s been hectic balancing everything to say the least.
As we all know, bills have to get paid and everything regarding the new project up to this point has been funded out of my own pocket aside from the crowdfunding campaign which raised about $400.00 which was 12% of my goal.
I also want to make clear that this is in no way me complaining whatsoever. I’m beyond grateful to those who made a contribution to the project and am working to make it up to you guys. I Just wanted to give you guys a thorough explanation of what’s going on and not leave you in the dark.
Nothing’s a straight line in my world as far as the process goes and I’m in a perpetual state of refining that process be it creatively or with marketing/promotion. Since day one DAVOLA has been a vision that has forced me out of comfort zones and taught me to be resourceful with what I have and make the most out of it. Something I’ve applied to my entire life.
It’s true though. Doing this all on your own isn’t really possible but I’m doing what I can with the time I have so hopefully that explains the constant pushing back of the EP.
So in the meantime, I wanted to share another snippet of music with you all. If you like what you hear, please share. To hear the full version of this teaser, head to http://facebook.com/davolametal
I thank you all so much for your patience and for accompanying me on this journey”. – Aaron
