Natas Lived have inked a worldwide deal with Zombie Shark Records, the new label from Motograter/Ex-The Browning drummer, Noah “Shark” Robertson. Their ‘We Are The Grey’ EP was recorded and produced by Dan Whittaker (Chelsea Grin, The Used, Vampires Everywhere) and Bucket at High Vibe Studios. The band pulls heavy influence from acts such as Static-X, Coal Chamber, Korn, Combichrist, Ministry, and NIN.
Natas Lived has shared the stage with Fear Factory, Mushroomhead, Spineshank, Otep, Orgy, Dope, Powerman 5000, Sid Wilson of Slipknot, Doyle, Motograter, American Head Charge, Angelspit, The Great Americon, Gemini Syndrome, Genitorturers, PHILM, Butcher Babies, Infected Mushroom, Blood On The Dance Floor, and more.
Natas Lived is the brainchild of founder, Justin Dummar, also known as DJ Context. As a DJ, he has performed with acts such as Cosmic Gate and Voodoo & Serano. Dummar is the grandson of Melvin Earl Dummar, a Utah man who earned attention when he claimed to have saved reclusive business tycoon Howard Hughes in a Nevada desert in 1967. Dummar’s claims resulted in a series of court battles and after Hughes’s death in April 1976, a handwritten will was discovered in the Salt Lake City, Utah headquarters of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Though purportedly written by Hughes in 1968, the will had many strange discrepancies. The will left one “Melvin DuMar” of Gabbs, Nevada one-sixteenth of Hughes’s estate. Dummar’s story was later adapted into Jonathan Demme’s film Melvin and Howard in 1980.
