There are only a few things that separate Rock from Metal. Metal mainly focus on Heaviness where Rock is heaved mainly on the Melody and Singalong choruses. Rock does have a ton of subgenres like Metal but, its the Alternative Rock that is popular among them. My Musical restrictions are beyond Metal and I listen to everything from Dungeon Synth to Dream Pop. Moreover, I love supporting the artists that I like. A newer Rock outfit, New Deadline is a newer addition to the list of artists that I like.
Having released their new album To Hope this year, I was instantly hooked to this band when I listened to their single “Black Tree”. This catchy addictive juggernaut made me dog more of their songs and consequently handing me an opportunity to review their album, To be honest, To Hope is just another Rock album but, the band has done a lot of effort to write the songs as they sound fresh. The album has a nice flow from the slow opener Runaway and the groovy closing track Rainy Days. Comparing this album with their 2015 effort, it’s easy to say that they have matured a lot.
The songs have a Rise Against kick to go with it and sometimes A Day To Remember comes in my mind when the band tries to go fully with melody and groove. Overall, To Hope is a great effort made and I look forward to more albums as such. I’m calling it, “Black Tree” might be the song that truly defines who New Deadline is in future when they get bigger.
