Folk is being categorised as one of those genres that Old people listen to after their retirement. But, I’m neither retired nor am I old. But I still like Folk. Folk Rock scene, though remote but offer quality bands. Folk is a genre where one could experiment without getting negative feedback from their followers. The people would only praise the band if they put a triangle solo amid the song instead of blaming them for creating such a bland solo. All jokes aside, I really love how Folk Rock scene looks as of now. Currently the next big thing on Folk Rock is Les Gruff and Billy Goat.
Having been mesmerised by their last single, I was waiting for them to drop the next single so that I could figure out what kind of style they’re going after on their upcoming. Two Steppin’ into sin was not at all a disappointment as it was worth waiting for. This 4 minute track is a nice way for everyone to get acquainted with the band’s folkish rock. While there are bands who play foolish rock these guys are playing an interesting take on Folkish Rock.
Not that these guys are totally remote and unheard. Since 2016 they have been actively opening for notable Americana artists such Whitey Morgan & the 78’s, Charley Crockett, The Last Bandoleros and The Steel Woods, while heavily touring the South and Midwest. The sextet quickly cultivated the tight, twangy dynamics that make them one of the most compelling original live bands to catch in St. Louis.
The album will be released worldwide on December 8. I don’t know about you, but I will be surely keeping an eye out for the release as grabbed my curiosity with these singles and I strongly hope they would grab my attention as well.
