Here’s another proposal from the Spanish label Blood Fire Death Promotion – the Spanish band from Catalonia, which after almost ten years of silence returns with its fourth album. Despite the fact that the band was formed in 2002, it is even a good result, of course, apart from this 10-year break. Inaddition, two members gained experience in other bands, namely Albert Marti among others in FOSCOR, SHEMHAMPHORASH, and Jordi Farré in APOLOGOETHIA, CRUCIAMENTUM, ERED, SHEIDIM…

In addition, the Iberian Peninsula has something unusual that makes people create good music there. The album “Set De Sang” is another proof of this. This is not just an ordinary Black Death Metal band combining the patents of both genres to play even harder, faster and darker. In this music there is a power, might and mood! Aggression is intertwined with melancholy, and everything is shrouded in dark black and bloody red.

The arrangements crush by their heaviness, brutality, sulphid blows, and at the same time it also tempt by melodic themes, and even pure singing, which is already running out beyond the canons of Blackened Death Metal. And the combinations of death growls, black screams and pure but dynamically melodic vocals gave a really powerful heart-rending effect. For example, the song “Els vents bufen a favor”, which mercilessly rips listener to shreds, then through its melodious vocals even more bring down listener but it still leave a leftovers of hope and give strength to arise. There is something beautiful in these emotions. These melodic vocals make music easy to remember and remain in a memory for a long time.

However, in the majority of cases VIDRES A LA SANG presents very fast topics. In addition there you can listen to the interesting work of bass guitar, technical performances of guitars, extensive artillery drums and moments full of pathos and mysticism (especially when there are slowingdowns and sinister melodeclamations or whispers).

I have not do it for a long time… I mean, I did not compare the described band to someone known. But I think that such comparisons are good, because they best bring thereader closer to music… so VIDERS A LA SANG is like a combination of MOONSPELL with BEHEMOTH.
