AEPHANEMER is another band in which women play. Lucie on the bass, and Marion growls and screams (closer to style of Black Metal but it is really predatory and powerful) and sometimes sings.

“Prokopton” is the second album of AEPHANEMER. In total, this is a fresh album, because it was released in March this year. Mixing the album was done by Dan Swano (Unisound AB) and mastering by Mika Jussil (Finnvox Studios).

It can be said that the band presents the classic version of Melodic Death Metal and follows the path of the bands such as DARK TRANQUILLITY, AT THE GATES, IN FLAMES and the like…

Of course, there is happen a lot in this music all the time. There is a permanent impetus to forward (albeit with temporary pauses for catching breath). The fast pace and dynamism are leaded by the fast and predatory guitar’s riffs, full of melodic parties, licks and solos. Of course, there are also predatory screaming vocals (the sound is more similar to the Black Metal style, although as we know it is one of Melodic Death Metal’s standards), and even, as I mentioned at the beginning, there also is the pure singing, but in low female tones (gloomy or rebellious – as in the song “Snowblind”).

And in turn, keyboards phrases sometimes even fight with guitars for leading in solo parts (in neoclassical style). These keyboard themes reinforce the nature of symphonicity and make the mood more sublime. And when the playing of all instruments is slowdown and calm, then the keys emphasize an atmosphere that is sometimes associated with the atmosphere of fantasy.

The album sounds very epic.
