In 2015, Mushroomhead frontman, Waylon Reavis decided to part ways with the band to embark on a search for a new musical endeavour. Although he nearly gave up his search, in 2016, A Killer’s Confession gave him a glimmer of hope. Remarkably, through this band, he signed a record deal with EMP Label Group, owned by Megadeth fame David Ellefson. The rest is history! After two full-length albums(one with EMP), A Killer’s Confession slowly built their reputation within the music community. Now the band just released a new track entitled “Last Chance” amidst the coronascare.
This song is a follow up to their emphatic 2019 sophomore effort, “The Indifference of Good Men”. The song holds a great significance since the former Mushroomhead mates, Waylon and Church has reunited. When asked about the new song, Waylon said, “It is about an individual who has burned all bridges in their life and are on their last chance to make it right. “Last Chance” is a scream for the forgiveness of past decisions we have made and how ashamed we can be from things we do.”
Sonically, the sound remains classic AKC with a tinge of Alternative Metal elements. Though the song screams Rock, his tenure with Mushroomhead is still prevalent as the music has some eerie-electronics. This 4-minute track is a hint that the band is recording. We could expect a full-length once the things are back to normal.
When it comes to the music video, AKC decided to shoot it despite the current quarantine situation. The band decided to go DIY and shot this video with handheld cameras and cell phones while sitting at home and respecting the social distancing order. The video also has a special appearance of Justin Bontiz of Tallah. Watch the video to know more!
