Newer bands adapt to the much dynamic music industry pretty quickly. I have noticed in many bands, including, but not limited to the Australian Metalcore band, Polaris, Metalcore giants Crystal Lake, and most recently Spiritbox – a band that blew up with one magnificent track. They’ve only been in the industry for hardly 3 years, but have found a niche to stick to, and find a loyal fanbase. To add to my list, I have Sonic Fuel.
Based out of Knoxville, the ensemble got together last year, in 2019 – and have only released three singles thus far. Despite having limited number of releases, the band have found a way to garner to a wider audience. Their debut single has been streamed for more than 15000 times, and counting – in more than 68 countries. If you ask me, this is a great feat for a band that has only been around for a year.
To be honest, it was this curiosity that compelled me to listen to their latest single “Karma”. The opening seconds of the song sounded like something off of a video game, which slowly progressed forward with a guitar riff. Once the vocals kick in, the sings sounds like a complete package. It leaves no voids behind. The group sounds similar to your average Hard Rock band, but there’s that vibe that this band gives while listening, that compels you to come back to them. In my opinion, the deliverance of the vocalist is one reason, and his flair on playing guitar riffs matching the melody.
The song only lasts for 3 minutes, but you will surely feel as if you want to go back and listen to it once more. It’s that repeat value that pushes the band’s Spotify stream on top. It wouldn’t be surprising to see this top their profile with at least a 50,000 streams by the end of this year. Memorability aspect of the track does prove vital in enhancing the overall experience. The solos are very catchy, and in addition to that, once you finish listening to the track, you will be singing the chorus.
Sonic Fuel is an emerging talent in the Rock community, and I am sure they won’t disappoint you. Considering the fact that this is only their third track, I am very positive on the progress. I wonder how they will sound, when they are two to three albums down the line. I’m sure they will having something experimental, but I will be a happy person as long as the band retains their catchy hooks and exquisite guitar works!
