It is difficult to find information about this band on the Internet. The leader of the band is Dann Hoyos, who graduated from the University of Berklee of Music in Boston. After returning to Spain, he made music solo. Then he chose colleagues, and they began to exist under the name THE SPACE OCTOPUS. They released four full-time albums before 2020.
“Tomorrow We’ll Be Gone” contains professionally made Rock, sometimes involving Hard’n’Heavy, also with ballad sounds, moody climate, ana with bit of melancholy.
The music is melodic and pugnacious. The guitarist can play the electric guitar in an interesting way as well as the acoustic guitar, which is used quite well. The songs are filled with nice solos. The rhythm section plays dynamically, it is no stranger to rhythmic twists. The bass is exposed in several places on the album. The vocalist sings with a feeling, his voice is transformed in some places, he is also supported by backing vocals.
The octopus can also play harder, but it is not in meaning of brutal Metal. But I think the band would be better if they could add a little more fire to their music. My second objection is that the Spaniards overly trusted their executive professionalism. All the notes hit the spot. But there is too little to follow their emotions, trust their instincts. In the Spanish octopus is lack of cosmic space, it is an octopus from our planet. On the other hand, someone may like this kind of music. Nevertheless, it is a successful release.
