The Spanish HASSWUT was founded in 2013. And he immediately entered the area that had been occupied by Germany for many years, and so much that while listening to their music gets an overwhelming impression that the band comes from Germany. First of all, this is evidenced by the German language of the songs, but of course musically the Spaniards charge us with a strong dose of Industrial Metal.
At the beginning of February this year, the world heard their third album “Mund Zu!”.
The first impression when listening is the clear influence of RAMMSTEIN music, those characteristic heavy guitar riffs and this very “techno-rave” percussion and typical for Techno and Rave music – samples, very clearly emphasizing or introducing some atmosphere, usually dark, a bit scary and sometimes melancholic.
And also, because how could it be otherwise, the vocal phrases are very similar to RAMMSTEIN. Maybe the timbre is a bit higher with the calmer sung parts, but the screaming-reciting lyrics sound very similar. It was not without dynamic choirs or introducing melodeclamations, and even female singing (also sort of sampled). The vocal lines, their melody, intensity and accentuation are strongly inspired by RAMMSTEIN. Sometimes I have the impression that I am listening to some unknown RAMMSTEIN album.
However, in HASSWUT’s music there are a greater Techno and Rave elements, and the guitars may be slightly less exposed, but also are powerful, a bit synthetic. Some sampled themes brought me closer to memories of a controversial duo from South Africa – DIE ANTWOORD (but only these musical elements). And despite the similarity to RAMMSTEIN, HASSWUT brings some own ideas.
The music is very dynamic, energetic, techno-trance, with a specific melody. The songs easily screw in your head, and when played loud, they stimulate you to rhythmic movement expressions.
