Italians Deadly Carnage (Post-Black), announce that they have started pre-production of their new concpet album; this phase was entrusted to Mike Crinella, collaborator of the band for many years who had already taken care of the pre-production of the previous album “Through the Void, Above the Suns” as well as being part of Omega, a parallel project of Deadly Carnage themselves. This concpet album turns its gaze to the Far East; the band will explore Japanese folklore linked to the mysterious ocean depths to discover the Yokai, Oni and Yurei (spirits, demons and ghosts) that populate those darkness. The structure of the concept is freely inspired by the legend of Urashima Taro, Adres (bass) explained something more about it:
“We have always been fascinated by the legends of Japanese folklore and visual works such as “Takiyasha the Witch and the Skeleton Specter” or “The Great Wave off Kanagawa”; all that world populated by ghosts, curses and ancestral creatures attracted us to itself in an irresistible way. The unknown and its symbolism have always been among our favorite topics; so we immersed ourselves in this world extremely distant from ours by reading many tales and legends and among them that of Urashima Taro fascinated us the most; we decided to use it as the starting point and the backbone of the whole album to explore the world of the spirits of the ocean depths of Japanese folklore. We all live on the coast, the sea is something we have seen before our eyes since we were born, in the winter mornings we wake up with the sound of the lighthouse in the fog, it is impossible for us not to be fascinated by its vastness and its mystery. For four years we have been working on the tracks on this album and on the concept that pulls the strings of everything, now we have finally started pre-production together with Mike Crinella who has been by our side for many years now when it comes to producing something. In the coming weeks we will reveal further details on this.”
This new work from Deadly Carnage will be the successor to “Through the Void, Above the Suns” and fifth album for the band.
