NIGHT ATTACK was founded in 2016 in Charlotte, a large city in North Carolina. This southern state, despite of “north” in its name :). The city is inhabited to a large extent by Protestants and with large agricultural traditions and it is associated more with Country music than with aggressive Netal. Nevertheless, there are a lot of Metal and Hardcore bands there.

Before “The Initiation”, the group released only one two-track digital demo. The firm leader, Verigo is involved in a large number of other local bands. This disc is the EP, but it contains over half an hour of material. We are dealing here with Trash Metal, enriched with Black Metal inspirations, there are moments similar to Doom Metal.

The graphic design refers to Black Metal and Gothic climates. It is very interesting Thrash Metal.

The band presents their inspirations as the early MATALLICA, SLAYER, DARK ANGEL, KREATOR. The music is aggressive, based on Thrash Metal patents, but not as brutal as SLAYER and KREATOR. The pieces are extensive, varied, we are constantly dealing with changes and interweaving of motifs, melodies and rhythms. The vocal similar to a Black screech dominates, sometimes with a second growling added, and the woman appears several times with her squeal.

The music is full-bodied, fleshy and constantly buzzing from the inside, ebullient. The best musician in the band is the drummer, but they all play and sing very energetically, dynamically. The guitarist often mixes short solos into the songs.

There is an atmosphere of negativity and pessimism on the disc. It is dark, haunted Thrash Metal, which is emphasized by the above-mentioned influences of Black Metal and Doom Metal. There is no doubt that we are dealing with raw, non-commercial creativity, full of power and darkness. The North Carolina dudes aren’t pushing the charts, and that’s good!

As a bonus, the album features a demo version of the song “Merciless Attack”, it does not differ much from the official version. For me, the debut CD EP NIGHT ATTACK is great!
