Romantic magicians from Munich’s MAGICAL HEART have just released their second album, after their debut “Another Wonderland”. And I dare say that they were taken by FastBall Music and Bob-Media Distribution for a reason. People working in these companies have a really good taste when it comes to broadly understood Rock music with aspirations towards various genres of Metal… Yes, tastes are different and people say that it can not be discusse about tastes. But it seems that we have similar tastes… So much the better!

After this introduction, let’s go on to “Heartsonic”… This is my first encounter with the music of this band and I immediately felt the similarity to ACCEPT with Udo Dirkschneider. Yes, this melodic guitar-vocal aggressiveness, very dynamic and lively, driving… But as it turns out later, this similarity occurs only in the more dynamic, more heavy-metal pieces, in which the vocalist sings higher and the guitars play with more heaviness.

And vocally, it is even varied. The singer has a lot to offer to lead the band through various regions of Rock music, because MAGICAL HEART also has many other inclinations, which can be heard for example in Post Punk and Pop Rock melodies or Grunge riffs. There is often an atmosphere from the 80s / 90s that accompanied the commercial American Rock, such as BON JOVI, MR. BIG, SKID ROW or British DEF LEPPARD… The atmosphere is very melodic, stirring, even romantic, but not without a slight claw, vocal hoarseness and easily catchy, sometimes sentimental refrains. And still with distorted guitars, but with some clean licks and catchy guitar solos.

There is also an episode with a dark and melancholic piano bringing a drop of Gothic Rock sound (in “Take Your Time”) between heavy, metal guitar licks.

In some compositions we will hear very sublime and emotional vocal-guitar melodies or choruses. And the thrilling track “Magical Star” can easily claim to be a commercial, radio and TV hit. The song literally grabs the heart with its magic and lifts you to the stars! A beautiful feeling!

So MAGICAL HEART combines romantic patents from different regions of Rock. It creates a very positive, often romantic atmosphere, but at the same time dynamic and full of life with moments of stronger hits from aggressive arrangements.
